Aquatic Fungi Growing on Seeds of Plants in Various Types of Water Bodies of Podlasie Province
The author investigated aquatic fungi developing on the seeds of some plants in various types of water bodies of Podlasie Province. The bait method was used to isolate the fungi. Seventy-four aquatic fungal species were found on seeds of three species of plants: Cannabis sativa hemp-seeds 59, Fagopyrum esculentum buckwheat-seeds 55 and on Vicia sativa vetch-seeds 44 in water of four various bod...
متن کاملAquatic Fungi Growing on Percid Fish Eggs (Percidae) in Poland
The authors investigated mycoflora developing on the eggs of three species of the percid fish. At total of 45 aquatic fungi (including 26 as parasites or necrotrophs) were noted. Pythium capillosum is a new record for Poland. The highest number of fungus species developed on eggs of all percids in water from the Biala river, which had the highest content of biogenic compounds.
متن کاملUse of naturally growing aquatic plants for wastewater purification.
This paper examines potential uses of naturally growing aquatic plants for wastewater purification. These plants enhance the removal of pollutants by consuming part of them in the form of plant nutrients. This applies to urban and agricultural wastewater, in particular, where treatment units of different sizes can be applied at the pollution source. The effectiveness of wastewater purification ...
متن کاملArbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and dark septate fungi in plants associated with aquatic environments
Th ere have been several reports of symbionts in the roots of plants that live in aquatic environments. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are the most common microsymbionts and possibly recolonized the aquatic environment together with plants; however, their functions and the extent of their benefi ts are unclear. Furthermore, the presence of other groups of fungi, such as dark septate fungi (...
متن کاملCytochromes of aquatic fungi.
The cytochrome systems of two classes of aquatic fungi, the Oomycetes and Chytridiomycetes, were studied by means of reduced-minus-oxidized difference spectra at room and at low temperature. At room temperature, all of these fungi have a c-type cytochrome with an absorption maximum at 551 mmu and a b-type cytochrome at 564 mmu. The Oomycetes have a-type cytochromes at 605 mmu, and the Chytridio...
